What I Like

This site was recently put in the noteworthy section earlier this month, but made the necessary changes to get it in the Gallery.

Skinny designs will always attract the eye, but its what they do with that attention that means everything. The site isn't heavy in content so I can see the justification behind going “slim”.

The graphics are very nice although I think the “light” gradient on the nav buttons is a bit too much. The background color helps to finish things off nicely without distracting the viewer.

What I Don't Like

The bird blinking every X seconds can get annoying fast.

    It's fun, but not professional in my eyes. The colour scheme is well, but when it comes to the footer, erhm erhm, it breaks the guideline in my eyes.

    Please don't tell me that contact form actually uses nesting tables for its layout! "What we do" and "Contact" don't validate. The color scheme is very interesting and works well with the site's theme (that Egyptian thing they've got going on). Adding some slight pattern to the background will probably make that yellowish tone a little less harsh though.

    I liked the previous version more. There's a sort of collision of elements here that I can't quite figure out but once that's resolved it will be a fantastic page.The colors are very good and the rounded graphics look great. I agree that the "lighted" gradient on the buttons should go. It's an example of less is more I think. The bouncing buttons are too much. I want to nail them down! I think the left side blocks are the problem, they block out too much of the page and are too square for the nicely rounded rest of the page. Also, I think tthe font is okay because there is not much text. A pattern in the background I think would take away from the smooth theme of the page. But, you never can say till you try it!

    Dunno why people are coming down hard on this. I like it. God forbid that someone would try and do something a little different. Portfolio page is a little messy but I'd stick with the navigation buttons.

    Thanks @ all for your criticisms, for some however it would be even more helpful, if you would make them constructionaly instead of destructively. That´s also a point what raised my passion about designing with web standards: I discovered that there are so many people in my business who help each other growing in their skillls instead of mutually fatigue themselves in the competition. So here is the version history of the changes: "Contact" validation - fixed "What we do" validation - fixed Contact form tables to css - fixed I reduced the “light” gradient on the buttons and i think it is better now - tried also without any gradient but that didn´t work for me. @ Pierce Thanks for your sensitive view - it´s excactly what i feel about my design - i tried something a little different compared to the surely beautiful trends in the contemporary Web Design. @ Leonard Times New Roman is NOT used for *content* - it´s the Trebuchet MS Set

    Ok - I agree with the comment that the box jut out too much on the left side. My thought is that they should at least line up to the left (but not pass) the two little red triangles above it. For me that is just using a verticle rule to keep the eye flowing. Actually, my preference would be to left a line the "Who We Are " Text underneath those triangles so there is a hard edge there flowing down the icons to the text and ties it together. The comment about the glare on the buttons I think it also valid. It seems to just make them washed out and less colorful. I am undecided on the up and down moving buttons. I'm leaning toward it being a distraction but I am somewhat undecided on that. Just my .02 cents... :)
